Camryn, founder of Pathway to Progress Counselling

Healing rarely announces itself. It arrives quietly — in a night you finally sleep through, a conversation you don't flinch from, a version of yourself you almost forgot was still in there. I've spent six years learning to recognise it in other people. I'd be glad to help you recognise it in yours.

How I found this work

For six years I've worked in the addiction field — a place most people arrive at sideways, not on purpose, and I was no different. What kept me there wasn't theory. It was watching people put themselves back together in rooms that finally felt safe enough to fall apart in.

I learned that recovery, grief, trauma, and love gone quiet aren't as different underneath as they seem. They all ask the same thing of a person: keep going when going feels impossible, and let somebody steady walk beside you while you do.

"Not fixing. Walking alongside — until the path is one you can walk on your own again."

How I work

My approach is warm, non-judgmental and client-centred, which is a professional way of saying: this is your process, not mine. I won't rush you toward a version of healing that isn't yours yet. Some sessions will feel like clearing ground; others like sitting in the weather together until it passes. Both count.

I believe change happens in small, repeatable moments — a boundary finally held, a hard sentence said out loud, a morning that doesn't start with dread. My job is to hold the space steady enough that those moments have somewhere to land.
